171 Collins Street (Fit-Out)

171 Collins Street is a Premium Grade, 6 Star Green Star and 5 Star NABERS Energy rated office building in Melbourne, and is home to anchor tenant BHP Billiton’s Global Office Headquarters.

A.G. Coombs undertook a fit-out of BHP Billiton’s eight floors, installing and commissioning supplementary air conditioning and mechanical services to areas that included a ground floor business centre and lower ground floor communications room, as well as other meeting rooms, break-out areas and a kitchen and dining area – all of which required their own air conditioning systems and associated controls.

The installed control systems were integrated with BHP Billiton’s in-house Facility Information Management System (FIMS) – a single platform for the client to manage both of the assets and the services on a real time basis. Without implementing a Building Management Controls system (BMCS), the client still has the extensive ability to monitor and control and manage the performance of the assets in operation.
