New Version of NABERS Energy and Water

The release V3.2 of the NABERS Energy and Water for Offices Rules is now available. NABERS Ratings must use the version of the rules current at time of lodgement. Version 3.2 is current from 22 October 2018 and supersedes version 3.1.

Version 3.2 integrates the Data Centre ruling and Supplementary Air Conditioning Ruling with the major change being Section 3, Rated Area. There are changes to how the Rated Area is calculated, and a chapter restructure provides greater clarity in how the Rules are applied to the Area calculation.

Detailed Changes include:

Section 2.8: Timeframe to conduct a site inspection – now must occur during the Rating Period or during the 120 days following the Rating Period
Section 3: Rated area. This Section has been restructured to provide greater clarity on the application of the Rules to the Area calculation.
“Supplementary Air Conditioning Ruling”, issued June 2017 is now incorporated in the main Rules
“Data Centre Exclusion – Office”, issued September 2014 is now incorporated in the main Rules
Eligibility criteria to obtain a NABERS office rating – new Section 2.10 added
All definitions consolidated into one single Section 2.2
AHAC count for Functional Spaces with different Zones for AHAC – new Section 4.3.2 Part 5. This new Section addresses independent AHAC requests serving different smaller zones within a single Functional Space.

Sections that have changed are clearly identified in the new rules by an orange line in the left margin of the page.
