International Women's Day 2022 | Breaking the Bias with Lauren Tesoriero

March 8, 2022

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. To help celebrate International Women’s Day 2022, we spoke with A.G. Coombs’ Apprentice Mechanical Plumber and Richmond FC AFLW Assistant Coach, Lauren Tesoriero.

A former AFLW player, more recently a Recruiter and Assistant Coach for Richmond FC, Lauren Tesoriero also joined the A.G. Coombs Group as an Apprentice Mechanical Plumber in 2021 following interest to pursue a career in a trade. “I’ve always been interested in a trade, my friends growing up were all tradies, as well as my brothers, says Lauren.”

With a knowledge of A.G. Coombs through the Richmond FC partnership, Lauren found a pathway that led to helping secure her role as an Apprentice Mechanical Plumber.

As a celebration of International Women’s Day with this year’s theme being ‘Break the Bias’, we took the opportunity to speak with Lauren about her career as both a successful football player and coach, as well as her transition into a career in a trade with A.G. Coombs.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while marking a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
