Bankwest Stadium - First Stadium to Achieve LEED V4 Gold

May 28, 2020

Paramatta’s Bankwest Stadium has become the first stadium in the world to announce it has achieved LEED V4 Gold Certification.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally recognised green building certification system operated by the US Green Building Council. This process offers third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at reducing energy and water usage, promoting better indoor air quality, and improving quality of life.

Designed and built by a consortium led by Lendlease, designed by Populous Architects and part of the NSW Government’s Stadia Strategy the new 30,000-seat sports stadium forms a key part of the transformation and revitalisation of Parramatta,

A.G. Coombs is proud to have played a key role in the construction of the $360 million Bankwest Stadium. Working closely with Lendlease and consultants Aurecon A.G. Coombs’ early engagement as design & construct mechanical services contractor in mid-2016 afforded the project team the opportunity to explore a range of solutions, as well as influence final architectural and structural design decisions.

More information on LEED certification is available at the U.S. Green Building Council website.
