How to utilise BIM to improve project delivery and efficiencies

May 16, 2016

agcoombs-carlagarinline_397x484Building information modelling (BIM) will become the design model for future buildings and BIM files will be the Facilities Managers’ library for all assets within a building. The adoption of BIM can deliver substantial cost savings across the entire asset lifecycle for all those involved, including Senior Facility Managers, Building Owners and Managers, and Asset Managers.

The above will be discussed in further detail at the forthcoming FMA NSW Breakfast Briefing, “BIM and the impact on future FM”, at which Carl Agar, A.G. Coombs Advisory’s Senior Consultant, Assets & Facilities, will address how to utilise BIM to improve project delivery and efficiencies.

Carl’s presentation will form part of a wider panel session made up of industry experts, including representatives from Lendlease, BCI Solutions and Autodesk Australia. Carl will focus specifically on the benefits of BIM in Prefabrication. BIM is a key technology that permits the potential of prefabrication to be realised. This includes the optimisation of deployment and delivery sequencing of materials and staff to site, and the flow on procurement and OH&S benefits, as well as overall construction programming benefits. Attendees will be given the opportunity to ask questions of the panel.

The event will take place in Sydney on Wednesday 18 May 2016. For further information and to register, view the FMA website.
